Story of Lamb
One day on instagram an image popped up of a young farmer tending his flock near Porthleven. I contacted Steve (The Cornish Lamb Co) directly and went to the farm with my wife. I love Porthleven, it has a very Cornish feel about it and happens to have a world class wave right in front. This was the first spot I surfed after moving to Cornwall.
We meandered along the coastal path road from Porthleven and arrived at Trewithick Farm house, ( covered in Thatch with Marley the Labrador sitting outside. As we chatted to Steve about his lamb and their diet I foraged bits of hedgerow which the sheep could not get to whilst glancing across the fields, down the coastal cliffs and staring out at the Atlantic. The sheep were currently on grass and this was to shift onto hay and later farm grown turnips to help supplement their diet.
Thats when Trewithick Pastures was born, a surf & turf idea utilising this amazing lamb, Cornish Crab, Hedgerow Herbs, Sea Vegetables and our new invention B.O.F.G.A . The lamb is slow roasted in hay from the farm, the foraged greens dressed in Cornish butter and we season the crab with B.O.F.G.A
What grows together, goes together.
